Welcome to Wood River First United Methodist Church. We invite all to come experience the love and grace of Jesus Christ, whether you are visiting the area or looking for a community of faith to call home. Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ by helping people connect to Jesus and one another and grow in faith and service. Dress is casual, and we have many opportunities to connect, grow and serve.

Celebrating 140 Years of Service and Worship

All of us have a story to tell. Our stories give us meaning and hope. The story of our lives and the First Presbyterian Church has been unfolding for many years and will continue for many years to come. There is no doubt that Gold placed and kept this church going through all these years so that we can have the privilege of telling the greatest story ever told.

There is a hymn entitled “We’ve a Story To Tell the Nations.” The story goes something like this: God loves each one of His creation so much that is breaks His heart to not be able to commune with them. To remedy this problem He gave all that He had, His only son, Jesus.

In much the same way that many repairs have had to be made to our little church on the corner. So Jesus came to earth, lived, died and rose again to repair that broken relationship.

Because of that simple story being told, our little church on the corner is being expanded. New souls are being added to the church of Jesus Christ. 

We welcome you and invite you to become an important part of our story as we journey together.
