Precision Agronomy Solutions
Precision Agronomy Solutions at 105 West Ninth Street in Wood River, provides precision irrigation agronomic tools and service. Their goal is to help growers become as efficient as possible with their irrigation systems. Most fields are over-irrigated because the tools are not in place to manage water efficiently.
The business was established in 2013 by owners Matt Maloney and Nick Lammers who strive to make sure every drop of irrigation water is placed at the right spot in the field, at the right time, and in the right amount. Each water management system they place can save over 10.5 million gallons of water by watering based on the crop needs instead of the calendar, limits groundwater pollution by nitrates and other pollutants, and has a very significant impact on yield because the process isn’t pushing water past the root zone.
“Many of our customers have reduced their water application by two or more inches in a year,” stated Lammers. “And, in addition to that reduction, they reported increased yields of over 10%. Our system is completely hands off for the grower. Our weekly field specific irrigation 
recommendations incorporate proprietary crop modeling, local weather station data, capacitance moisture probes, and variable rate irrigation to ensure maximum efficiency and profitability.”
Both Matt and Nick serve on the Wood River Volunteer Fire Department. Between the two of them they have given over 68 years of service to the Wood River area.
