Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:  The Maintenance Technician position is a maintenance crew member assigned to perform maintenance which includes areas of expertise in electrical-mechanical maintenance and installation, instrumentation, controls, Frequency drives, mechanical troubleshooting and repair. Primary goal is to assure safe and efficient production by responding to changing conditions in timely manner.

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

  • Working in all areas of the plant:
    • Instrumentation and Electrical repair and troubleshooting (Emphasis)
    • Electrical Repairs: Motors, Motor Starters, Running Conduit and wire pulling (Emphasis)
    • Troubleshooting and repair of PLC/DCS (Emphasis)
    • Programming of PLC/DCS systems
    • Trouble shooting and repair of pumps/ auto valves
    • Trouble shooting and repair of grain system
    • Performing preventative maintenance
  • 50% of position is conducting electrical repairs and installations 50% conducting mechanical repairs and installation
  • Moves, sets, calibrates, as needed, controls such as: knobs, valves, switches, levers, and index arms, on control panels to control process variables such as: flows, temperatures, pressures, vacuum, time, and chemicals, by automatic regulation and remote control of processing units such as: heaters, coolers, thermal oxidizer, compressors, exchangers, and other units
  • Determines malfunctioning units by observing control instruments, such as meters and gauges or by automatic warning signals, such as lights and sounding of horns
  • Inspects equipment to determine location and nature of malfunction such as: leaks, breakages, faulty valves and pumps
  • Determines repair and maintenance of equipment
  • Patrols units to verify safe and efficient operating conditions
  • Lubricates equipment

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • 3+ year of mechanical electrical experience or Maintenance Tech Degree
  • High School Diploma or GED required with preference of Maintenance Tech Degree
  • Familiarity with industrial equipment operations and care
  • Experience with Arc and MIG-Tig welding
  • Mechanical background with bearing changes, pumps, conveyors, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge in the areas of planning, organizing, interpersonal communications
  • Strong Electrical Experience required
  • PLC/DCS knowledge
  • Knowledge of Hart Communication Systems, Profibus wiring and com methods, and Device-net
  • Ability to read and update electrical prints
  • Understanding of discrete and analog systems
  • Pneumatic Experience & Hydraulic Experience strongly preferred

Material Handler

Description

Location: Green Plains Wood River LLC
Job: Material Handler, rotating shift

Job Summary: Operate and maintain machinery and equipment necessary in the loading and unloading of ethanol, wet & dry distillers and corn. Essential Functions include, but are not limited to the following: • Inspect grain received to ensure that it meets company standards. • Timely loading/unloading of all ethanol, distiller’s grains and other products by railcar and truck. • Proper completion of all records related to the products loaded for shipment from the plant site. • Ability to submit work requests when appropriate. • Housekeeping as related, but not limited to the cleanliness and orderly organization of all areas that pertain to your duties. • Keep current on the status of all operating equipment. • Maintain rolling stock to include loaders, track mobile, skid steer, and fuel loader by checking fluid levels, greasing, lubricating and re-fueling. • Inspect loaders, track mobile, etc. for defects, cracks, breaks, tires, etc. according to the designated schedule issued by maintenance and document the inspection results. • Work closely with maintenance and inform them of any mechanical problems. • Grease and check oil levels on all rolling stock equipment at the designated schedule and document. • Properly document any accidents and/or injuries. • Keep the plant in a tour ready condition at all times. • Frequent communications with the grain grader and operations department. • Participate in safety programs and ongoing training sessions.

Requirements
Qualifications: • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required • Must be hard working and self motivated. • Basic computer knowledge is preferred. • Ability to operate utility vehicles. • Ability to work well with others and ability to work independently with multi-tasking skills. • Must have a willingness to learn. • Exemplify the high standards necessary to accomplish the goals of this company. Work Environment/Physical Demands: • Must be able to manage confined space entry, climb ladders and steps, lift up to 60 lbs, and work at heights. • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. • The employee is regularly exposed to dusty conditions. • The employee is regularly exposed to high noise environments. • The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather in all conditions. • The employee will regularly be exposed to chemicals used in the process. Commodity Assistant

Description
Essential Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Purchases and sell grain and feed products from producers, grain elevators, and vendors under the direction of the Commodity Managers.
Communicates daily with customers as required for contracting and scheduling.
Works directly with customers to gather all documentation necessary for new account setup, existing account maintenance, and contract administration.
Enter new purchase contracts into the grain operational system.
Provides documentation, reports, and other information to customers upon request.
Assists in maintaining documents in accordance with governing agencies.
Gathers market intelligence from vendors and other outside sources.
Works with third party freight vendors to schedule and ensure timely delivery of products.
Maintain and enforce all safety programs and procedures.
Performs routine housekeeping duties to maintain a clean work environment.
Participates in safety, health, environmental and ongoing training programs.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required, Associates degree or higher preferred.
Experience with basic office computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
Experience providing customer service to farmers, grain elevator personnel, and truck drivers preferred.
Experience weighing and grading trucks is a plus.
Maintain a thorough understanding of applicable Federal and State regulatory requirements.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Physical demands include but are not limited to: ability to climb ladders, bend, twist and reach, crouching or standing for long periods of time. May also include frequent sitting, computer use and telephone use.
Noise level at field location may be quiet to very loud and use of PPE will be required.
